Day 1 → Arrive in Chengdu
Tour starts as we meet in Chengdu TFU Tianfu airport on Day 1 as we pick you up from your international or domestic flight just after baggage claim.
Tour starts at 5:00pm at the JoyHub Cheer Hotel in Chengdu TFU airport, between terminals 1 and 2.
We will start with a welcome dinner and then let everyone have a good rest after a long flight.

Day 2 → Arrive in Lhasa, Tibet
Today we transfer on a 2 hour flight from Chengdu to Lhasa (this flight is included in the tour price and package).
In the afternoon, you will be met at the Lhasa airport by your Tibetan guide and transferred to the hotel which is located in the Old Town of Lhasa, elevation 3600 meters. You can then explore the nearby Old Town of Lhasa and the markets lining Barkhor Square.

Day 3 → Around Lhasa: Jokhang Temple and Drepung Monastery
After breakfast, you will visit the Jokhang Temple, the holiest Buddhist temple in all of the Himalaya. Each day, many thousands of Buddhist pilgrims come here to worship. Many have traveled well over a thousand kilometers by foot to see this 1400 year- old temple. And then we shall drive straight to Drepung Monastery and visit the monastery. After lunch, you will visit the 600 year old huge monastery complex of Sera. While at Sera, you watch the monks engage in entertaining Buddhist philosophical debates.

Drive time: 20 minute drive from downtown Lhasa to Sera Monastery
Walking time: 1-2 hours of light walking around downtown Barkhor Square and Jokhang Temple
Note: Do yoga and meditation at the hotel.
Day 4 → Around Lhasa: Potala Palace and Norbulingka
Today you will start your day by visiting the massive 1000 room Potala Palace, the most iconic building in Tibet. You will work your way up the steps of the Potala and then go through the most important rooms in this famous UNESCO site. After lunch, you will visit Norbulingka Palace which is known as the summer palace of the successive Dalai Lama lineage since the 18th century. If you are interested then you can visit the Tibet Museum as it is not far from Norbulingka Palace.In the late afternoon and evening, you will have free time to explore Lhasa on your own or do some souvenir shopping around the Bearkat Square. Also if you are interested l, you can experience or explore the famous Drophenling Handicraft Center and perhaps you can have a short excursion at craft center.

Day 5 → Around Lhasa: Drakyerpa Meditation Caves
Drakyerpa is the main retreat or meditation center of central Tibet since 7th century and there are 108 caves around whole mountain. It is 40 km away from Lhasa, it will be good if you do this in the morning as you can have a relaxing hike in the mountains around the meditation center.. The whole Drakyerpa Monastery is built up over caves. As you will get fantastic views of whole valley. Personally ,this is my favorite site of whole sightseeing around Lhasa. I am 100 % sure that you will like this as it is so different and will see the real or authentic village life. So, in the noon you shall retrace drive to Lhasa and will have lunch break. In the afternoon, you will be driven to Ganden Monastery. Ganden Monastery was founded in year 1409 under the guidance of master Tsongkapa. In the evening, you will have free time to wander around the old town on your own. Today, we can arrange a cooking class at Family Kitchen if you are interested and you have to bear the class fee on your own as it is not included in the cost and the class covers dinner as well in the restaurant.

Drive time: 1 hour drive from downtown Lhasa to Drakyerpa Meditation Caves, then 1.5 hours drive from Drakyerpa Meditation Caves to Garden Monastery. Then finish the day with 1 hour drive back to Lhasa.
Walking time: 2 hours of medium hiking at Drakyerpas Monastery at 4,500 meters. At Ganden monastery you can walk around the monastery and do a 1 hour nature hike also at 4,600 meters.
Note: Do a yoga and meditation practice for few hours at this most sacred of meditation sites.
Day 6 → Lhasa—Yamdrok Lake—Karo La Glacier—Gyantse— Shigatse (350 km drive)
You will depart Lhasa in the early morning and drive through the scenic Yarlung River Valley towards Yamdrok Lake. Yamdrok is one of Tibet’s 4 main holy lakes and is regarded as one of the most beautiful lakes in the Himalaya. From the Kamba La Pass, you get a panoramic view of this spectacular lake with the nearby mountains. Next, you will drive along the lake shore to Nankartse, where you will stop for lunch. Next, you will begin ascending again to the stunning Karo La Glacier. Here, you can get an up- close view of Mt. Nojin Kangtsang and the glaciers coming off of it. Your next stop is the pleasant town of Gyantse where you will visit the massive Gyantse Kumbum Stupa as well as the Pelkhor Chode Monastery. You will then continue to Shigatse, elevation 3840 meters.

Drive time: 7-8 hour drive from downtown Lhasa to Shigatse (with many scenic stops along the way.
Walking time: 30 minutes of walking around photographic sites at Yamdrok Lake, 45 minutes of short hiking at Karo La Glacier at 5.000 meters. 30-60 minutes of walking in a monastery at Gyantse Kumbum.
Note: Do a yoga and meditation practice at shores of Yamdrok Lake or at Karo Glacier.
Day 7 → Tashi Lunpo Monastery and Samye Monastery
After breakfast, you will explore Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, the main attraction in Shigatse. This is the largest monastery in central Tibet. If time permits, it will be a good idea to explore the famous Flea market and then proceed our drive via the northern route along the Yarlung River. We shall make a short stop at Nemu village where we can explore the local incense factory and then proceed the
drive straight to Samye where you visit the oldest Buddhist monastery which is called Samye Monastery and it was founded in 8th century and perhaps you will have opportunity to experience the monks doing chanting in assembly hall. Overnight at Samye monastery hotel.
Drive time: 30 minute drive from downtown Lhasa to Norbulingka Summer Palace
Walking time: 3-4 hours of light walking around downtown Barkhor Square, Potala Palace, and Norbulingka
Note: Do a yoga and meditation practice at Tashi Lhunpo Monastery or Samye Monastery.
Day 8 → Samye -Drak Yangzong – Khandro Yeshi Tsogyal Lake
In the morning, you will do short hiking to the holy caves site of Drak Yangzong, meditation cell of Guru Rinpoche and after exploring or doing meditation at the holy site, you shall visit Khandro Yeshi Tsogyel, s lake and also the nunnery which is not far from Drak Yangzong. Visit the monastery and then retrace the drive to Samye. Monastery Hotel

Day 9 → Depart Lhasa, Tibet
In the morning, you will be transferred to the Lhasa LXA airport or train station for your flights out of Tibet.
